Ngoc Son Mystical Night Tour

On the evening of January 31, a special night tourism experience called "Ngọc Sơn – Mystical Night" was officially launched at the national heritage site of Hoàn Kiếm Lake and Ngọc Sơn Temple in Hanoi.

This night tour distinguishes itself from other nighttime offerings in Hanoi by blending the ancient architecture of the Ngọc Sơn Temple with the traditional rituals and folklore that have been passed down through generations.

The program employs modern sound, light, and projection technologies, along with various performances, to convey the rich cultural values of Vietnam in a fresh and engaging manner.

The experience will welcome guests on Monday through Friday evenings, with an expected capacity of 60 to 70 visitors each night. There are fixed shows at Ngọc Sơn Temple, Hoàn Kiếm Lake, every Wednesday and Thursday with three shows each night at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. Shows on other nights can be ordered in advance. The ticket is sold at VNĐ260,000 per adult (US$10.9) and VNĐ218,000 per children below 15 of age. Tickets can be purchased at the site

"Ngọc Sơn – Mystical Night" is divided into five main themes, each corresponding to a distinct architectural area of the Ngọc Sơn Temple. These themes include:

1. The Ceremony of Bestowing Virtuous Characters – held at the Pen Tower area.
2. The Ritual of Welcoming Heavenly Energy – at the Thê Húc Bridge and Đắc Nguyệt Lâu area.
3. The Legend of King Lê Lợi Returning the Sword – taking place in front of the Trấn Ba Pavilion by the lake.
4. The Ancestral Prayer Ceremony – conducted within the main temple area.
5. A Visit to the Display Room of the Hoàn Kiếm Turtle Specimen and a stroll around the temple grounds.

This experiential program is set in the sacred atmosphere of the capital and carries a unique charm. Visitors participating in the experience will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in traditional Vietnamese folk rituals, right at the very site where these ceremonies were historically performed – the Ngọc Sơn Temple.

During the launch event, the Director of the Hanoi Relics Management Board stated that in 2022, the Hanoi Party Committee issued Resolution No. 09-NQ/TU concerning the development of the cultural industry in the capital from 2021 to 2025, with a vision extending to 2030 and beyond to 2045. The goal is to maximize the potential, strengths, and cultural values that embody the unique identity of Hanoi, turning these values into a driving force for the socio-economic development of the city.

In line with Resolution 09-NQ/TU, the Hanoi Relics Management Board has developed the "Ngọc Sơn – Mystical Night" experience to explore and promote the heritage values, creating an attractive cultural product for tourists and contributing to the socio-economic development of the capital.

This nighttime experience has garnered significant attention and close guidance from the City Party Committee, the City People's Council, and the City People's Committee, along with support from scientists and artists to create a distinctive cultural tourism product.
